Today’s been manic. . .
A client called me this morning at 9.00 and wanted me to meet for an appointment straight away!
I said ‘sure no problem’. . .’no problem at all!’. . .
Then, after I put the phone down I realised, that I had confirmed without checking my schedule for the day.
It turned out that I could still manage the new appointment… But what if I couldn’t have?. . .which client would I have let down?
Would I have based my choice on first come first served or, would I have checked to see which client would generate the most income?
Maybe I would have decided by which client I liked the best!. . .
There are many times in life, where unexpectedly, someone asks for our help, sometimes it’s financially, sometimes it’s a listening ear, sometimes it’s a helping hand.
I wonder what would happen if, each time we were asked to do something, we responded with:
“Yes, sure, no problem”. . .
Rather than deciding who gets our help, based on their social standing, or wether the effort required is greater than was a cost were willing to pay, both in time and money!
I have know finished my appointment, and it was a pleasure doing business. . .
It’s funny, how we can never really know how things will turn out, even when we judge a situation, or presume the worst in the task were asked to do, or in the people who ask us for help. . .
Nonetheless, it is always satisfying when after helping someone, we can say. . .
“It’s been a pleasure doing business with you”
